2019 Conference

The Association for Historical and Fine Art Photography will be holding its 2019 Conference on Monday 11th November at The Royal College of Physicians in London. There is also an opportunity to join our day two activities on the 12th November.

To register and pay for a ticket, please use our external booking facility (hosted by Eventbrite). To pay by invoice or cheque, please select the amount of tickets you require and select “Show other payment options” under the Order Now button, then click the Pay Offline button and follow the instructions to complete your registration.

Please note: you do not need a Paypal account to pay by Paypal, select ‘Pay with a credit or debit card’ when at the order summary page.


This year’s call for papers welcomes presentations on projects, stories, technical studies, experiments and cross-sector subjects within our discipline.

It is planned that the timetable shall accommodate papers of 15-, 30- and 45-minute durations.

Please submit your proposals to submissions@ahfap.org.uk by 1 August 2019. Submissions should include the following:

  • An abstract of between 150 and 300 words on your proposed paper
  • A brief (one or two sentence) summary of what delegates will learn from your presentation
  • Have you given this paper or talked about this project at a previous conference? If so, at which conference and when?
  • How long you wish to speak for and any special requirements for presentation you may have over and above PowerPoint, lectern microphone and a widescreen projector.

In addition, we shall be running an on-screen exhibition, which will enable video as well as still presentations. Submissions will be accepted until 30th September 2019.

If you’d like to submit a photographic entry please send TIFF files with a minimum size of 30mb. If you are submitting video please send an output at a resolution of 1080p (1920×1080). For all content submitted please include a title, short description and credit information.
